Managing Family Codes


Information

Families in eSuite group sets of items based on common characteristics.

There are types of items that are produced by multiple manufacturers. Juices, for example, may be part of the same sub-department, but extracting them by type from other items is not easy. To overcome this, you can define new juice families to which each juice is associated. For example, you can create the Frozen juices family and link the frozen juices to it using the Family field in the Main item table. It would allow you to select only the frozen juices, regardless of their vendors, sub-departments, or other divisions.


Display the Family table

The Family table is available from the launcher in the following eSuite modules: CareManageBuySell, and Batch.

To display the Family table:

  1. Click the down arrow in the Dimensions entry to expand its menu.



  1. Select Families to open the Families start window. 
  2. Select List.

  1. Select a record from the grid.







  2. Click Edit in the bottom menu to open the Family table.



Create a family record

You can create a family from the Family list or table.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click Add  “+” in the list or table toolbar.

The Family table opens on the desktop.

  1. Enter the family number (mandatory) and description.
  2. Click Save in the toolbar or press Enter on your keyboard to save the changes.
  3. Click Refresh at the bottom of the list to see the new record.

Modifying a family record

Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Family table for the record that you want to edit.
  2. Modify as required.
  3. Click Save in the toolbar or press Enter on your keyboard to save the changes.
