Information
Categories in eSuite classify items with similar characteristics but assigned to different departments, sub-departments, vendors, or other eSuite divisions.
For example, juices can belong to the same sub-department, making it difficult to separate them from other items by type. However, it becomes easy to select only the vegetable juices, regardless of the vendor, by creating a category called "vegetable juices" and linking all the vegetable juices to it.
Categories allow you to refine the focus of the reports and organize items in a more consumer-friendly way when it comes to catalogs, for example.
Display the Category table
The Category table is available from the launcher in the following eSuite modules: Care, Manage, Buy, Sell, and Batch.
To display the Category table:
Create a category
You can create a category from the Category list or the Category table.
To create a new category:
Modifying a category
To modify a category:
1. Open the Category table for the record that you want to edit.
2. Modify as required.
3. Click Save in the toolbar or press Enter to save the changes.
Add an image to the category
You can add images to categories with the Category table.
1. In the category list, select the category to which you want to add
an image.
2. Click Edit in the bottom menu and select Images. The Category table opens on the desktop.
3. Click Browse and select an image.
4. Click Save in the toolbar or select Enter on your keyboard to
save the changes.
