The MI Liquor Management program will automatically program all liquor item information for every liquor item in the state. This includes all of the information in the liquor book including, category, cost, vendor, and liquor code. The MI Liquor Management program is designed to take the file that the state of Michigan puts on the internet, and punch the entire thing into your system at state minimum pricing.
What if I want to put my own pricing on items?
If you want to have your own pricing on items, it’s very simple. Just enter the price you would like to charge in the regular price field. (Previous versions used the In Store price. This is no longer required and you should change to using the regular price field from this point forward.)
Flag custom priced items with CP in the “Status” field to keep future price updates from over-writing your custom pricing. When the import is run, it will take all the items pricing information from the state and overwrite all existing pricing information. If you have items that have a higher price, these items would be overwritten with the state minimum every time you ran the import tool. To stop this from happening you need to put the CP flag on the items you wish to protect. If you put CP in the Status field on these items, the import will ignore these items and will not overwrite these item’s pricing with the state minimum. CP Stands for “Custom Pricing”. If you double click the Status box it will give you an option to click it, or just type “CP” in that box.
