Our Freshop integration has two choices. We can do a simple one way integration, or we can do a full integration.
The one way integration is very simple. We set up an item file export, that sends your item database to Freshop on a daily basis. Freshop uses this file to build your online store.
Our full integration sends the item file up to Freshop the same way as the one way integration, but it also has the ability to pull orders placed on Freshop's website directly down to the POS system. Any online ordering system will still require you to ring the groceries up at the register for reporting purposes. With many other online ordering integrations this requires you to go pick the order, take it to a lane, scan all the groceries, then pay for the transaction with a dummy tender to account for these sales. This is for reporting purposes as you will still want your pos system to record these sales.
With our full integration for Freshop, we have the ability to check Freshop's servers for orders and pull them directly into the register as a suspended transaction. This eliminates the step of having to ring each order into a register. It also handles the "true up" at the end. The true up part of the transaction is required because a customer might order 2lbs of tomatoes, but the actual weight will be 2.04 pounds of tomatoes. This kind of discrepancy is expected, but it is required to send the adjusted amount back up to Freshop so the customer is charged properly. Our full integration does this for you. When you complete the transaction at the lane, we transmit the full total back to Freshop as a trued up amount.
Our full integration works very well, and is one of the tightest integrations we have with any online ordering platform outside of Loc's native online ordering.
